ACB registers FIRs in Jal Jeevan Mission Scam

Jaipur: After a prolonged delay, the government has finally taken action on issues related to irregularities in the Jal Jeevan Mission. This comes in the wake of the Lok Sabha elections and the budget session.

According to sources, cases are now being filed by the ACB based on the ED’s report. FIRs have been registered against a dozen officials of the PHED. The state government has officially approved the ACB’s action under Section 17(A). The ACB can initiate field operations at any moment.

The action is under the supervision of DG, ACB Ravi Meharda.

Meanwhile, the govt has reopened a multicrore corruption case related to the Mid-Day Meal scheme. Following a preliminary investigation by the ED, the State govt is likely to file a case with the ACB. The case targets two former IAS officers and the chief supplier, Kanwaljeet Singh Ranawat. Additionally, several officials from CONFED are under suspicion. Over the past three days, the ACB has conducted probes, questioning multiple CONFED officials. This development has caused alarm within the Education Dept & CONFED, reflecting the seriousness of the probe into alleged financial irregularities.
