A UNIFIED BALLOT!

New Delhi: India can have a “one nation, one election” system, or simultaneous national and state elections countrywide, will be examined by a new committee headed by former President Ram Nath Kovind, Union Parliamentary Affairs Ministry Pralhad Joshi said on Friday, signalling a big step forward on the long-debated proposal discussed by multiple panels.

“India is the mother of democracy and our democracy is a mature democracy. There has been a long and rich tradition of discussing subjects related to interest of the country. Right now only a committee has been constituted to discuss the topic of ‘One nation, One election’ and to know the opinion of the people,” Joshi posted on X.
