A split in the 1995 IAS Batch: Two officers promoted, two left behind

Jaipur: The latest promotions have added a new chapter to the history of the state’s IAS cadre. The 1995 batch has been split into two parts, with two officers promoted and two others denied promotion. As FIRST INDIA had reported in its December 6 issue, Kunji Lal Meena and Ashwini Bhagat from the 1995 batch would not be promoted to Additional Chief Secretaries.

On January 1, the promotion orders for the two senior IAS officers from this batch, Praveen Gupta and Bhaskar Sawant, were issued. Consequently, Kunji Lal Meena and Ashwini Bhagat will continue as Principal Secretaries. It was anticipated that along with the promotion orders, the Department of Personnel (DoP) would also issue postings for the IAS officers who have been on Awaiting Posting Order (APO) for an extended period. However, this did not happen. As of now, a total of 20 IAS officers are on APO, marking what may be a historic first in the state’s administrative history with such a large number of officers on APO.

The list includes: Rajendra Vijay, Shivangi Swarnkar, Jagjit Singh Moga, Hanumanmal Dhaka, Awadhesh Meena, Gaurav Saini, Shweta Chauhan, Sharad Mishra, Shaktirsit Rathore, Rajendra Singh Shekhawat, Yaksh Chaudhary, Pritam Kumar, Yasharth Shekhar, Anshu Priya, Saksham Goyal, Divansh Singh, Shraddha Gom, Mohit Kasaniya, B. Shubham Ashok, Sonika Kumari, and Shrestha Shri. This list also includes 10 officers from the 2022 batch, who had been posted as OSDs in the Industries Department during the Rising Rajasthan event. These officers have now automatically been placed on APO.
