Welcome...THE ETERNAL YATRI!

7 September 2022, was a day of not much consequence to the ordinary Indian. The person woke up in the morning and went about doing his work in the same monotony as all the other days. But something rather important happened on the day, which, in all probability, could have a massive impact on the political realm of the nation. Because it was on this day, that a ‘mass movement’ was initiated to revitalise the grassroot and to touch the life of majority of Indians, so as to awaken them regarding the political life of the nation. This was the Bharat Jodo Yatra, the brainchild of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi who orchestrated the movement by mobilising the party cadre and general public into walking by foot from Kanyakumari, the southern tip of the peninsula, to the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir, spanning 3,570 kilometres over 150 days. Now, after completing over 2,000 kilometers over nearly 3 months’ time, the yatra has entered Rajasthan from Chanwali border of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. Having witnessed huge support along the way and being blessed by the common citizen of the nation, the participants of the yatra are upbeat and excited to spend the next 18 days in the desert state during which, it is expected, that the locals would extend their support to not just the yatra but its progenitor — Rahul Gandhi — as well. With the yatris resting the night at Chanwali, perhaps their movement in the state would mean a new dawn in the politics of the state, which, as Cong-men hope, would break the tradition of change of parties in each election. Moreover, both the ‘top-leaders’ of Rajasthan Congress — Ashok Gehlot and Sachin Pilot — too have claimed that party is as united as it can be and that under Rahul Gandhi, Gehlot government would witness a repeat!
