'Tribals of Vagad region being brainwashed,' claims Rajasthan CM Sharma
Jaipur: Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma on Monday cautioned tribals in the Vagad region against the threat of "brainwashing" activities being run by some people in connivance with government employees.
People from the tribal areas are taken away, brainwashed, and are brought back, he claimed.
The CM said some of the people involved in misleading them hold government jobs.
Sharma made the claim addressing an election rally in the Chorasi Assembly constituency of Dungarpur district.
"Anti-tribal activities are going on in the tribal area. People are sent to other places from here and are brought back after brainwashing. Be careful. These are the people who are also doing government jobs and are sending your children to other places. One needs to be cautious of such people," he said.
Dungarpur and Banswara districts, both with sizable populations of tribals, form the Vagad region.
Sharma also attacked Dungarpur MP Rajkumar Roat of Bharat Adivasi Party, saying he was not bothered about the development of the region.
Chorasi seat is among the seven assembly constituencies where bypolls will be held on November 13. Results will be declared on November 23.
