RUHS bans private consultation of its docs; recruitment drive soon

Jaipur: Doctors affiliated with constituent colleges and hospitals of RUHS will no longer be able to see patients at home and charge fees. All these medical teachers will now focus on providing quality treatment to hospitalized patients and delivering research-oriented education to medical students. The Board of Management meeting of RUHS has made an important decision to implement mandatory non-practicing allowances for all medical teachers, both current and newly appointed.

When the RUHS administration started working on implementing the Bhajan Lal government’s announcement to establish RIMS on the lines of AIIMS, it was discovered that AIIMS had already implemented mandatory non-practicing allowances. Keeping this in mind, the historical decision was made to apply mandatory non-practicing allowances at RIMS, RUHS Hospital, Jaipuria Hospital, and the Dental Hospital, applicable to both existing faculty and new recruits.

In a significant development at RUHS the university is set to open recruitment for doctors and other positions. In a meeting of the RUHS Board of Directors, it was unanimously decided to call for applications for 69 posts of Assistant Professor (Broad Specialty), 9 posts of AP (Super Specialty), and 441 non-teaching posts that will be filled at the university level, with the deadline for applications set for December 12.

During a recent meeting, Medical Education Secretary Ambrish Kumar raised questions regarding the exclusion of principals of constituent colleges from the Board of Management meeting. When officials cited rules, Ambrish Kumar directed that principals be invited as special members to ensure their participation in decisions related to constituent colleges. Dr. Neeraj Verma has been given an important role in the academic recruitment of RUHS. In the meeting of the RUHS Board of Directors, Dr. Verma, a professor at SMS Medical College, was unanimously appointed as the coordinator.
