Raj police cracks whip, nabs Thehat’s 5 killers in 24 hours

Jaipur: The arrest of the accused of shootout in Sikar in which gangster Raju Thehat and one other person was killed within 24 hours has been another big success in maintaining law and order and proved the acumen of DGP Umesh Mishra. Mishra was in constant touch with concerned police officers till late Saturday. The police nabbed 5 people including a minor on Sunday. Two of accused identified as Satish Kumhar and Jatin Meghwal were injured in a brief encounter with police on Sunday. DGP congratulated Jaipur Range IG Umesh Dutta & Sikar SP Kunwar Rashtradeep. As per sources, DGP Mishra may make a big announcement for reward or out of turn promotion for the team involved in operation.

ADG (Crime) Ravi Prakash Meharda on Sunday said that intense search operations by 15 police teams were launched after the killing of Raju Thehat and the borders were sealed. It was learnt that the accused were hidden in the Dabla, Sikar near Haryana border. A raid was conducted in which Manish & Vikram were nabbed with weapons and live cartridges at around 3 am on Sunday. The duo revealed during interrogation that the other accused were hiding in a hilly terrain in Jhunjhunu. The police teams reached the spot and caught Satish and Jatin, along with one minor. The accused had opened fire at the police team. In retaliation, police also fired in which Satish and Jatin received bullet injuries, police said. According to police, hours after the murder, a speeding car, believed to be carrying the accused, was spotted in Jhunjhunu district by some locals who claimed that the occupants opened fire at some labourers to get the way cleared, police said. Raids were conducted in areas like Hardiya, Kakriya, Surpura, Bagoli, Papda, Nayabas, and Haripura, officials said.
