No action on probe reports of missing tigers & other issues
Jaipur: A deep investigation into the forest department has revealed numerous unresolved cases of wildlife deaths, land encroachments, and illegal mining. Despite orders for investigations in over five dozen major cases in the past five years, none have resulted in serious public action.
Key issues include the unreported deaths of tigers in Mukundra, unexplained deaths of two tiger cubs in Nahargarh Biological Park, and the ongoing investigations into land encroachment and illegal construction in Sariska and other forest regions. Additionally, cases such as the escape of a leopard from Sajjangarh Biological Park and the mysterious deaths of panthers in Gogunda remain unresolved.
Despite directives from the Forest Minister and senior officials, a lack of accountability within the department has prevented any substantial action.
