MARU MAHOTSAV ENDS WITH HORSE RACING, FOLK MUSIC

Jaisalmer: On the last day of Maru Mahotsav, domestic and foreign tourists profoundly enjoyed the programmes organised at the historic Kuldhara village and Khabha Fort in Jaisalmer district on Sunday. They also enjoyed the folk music programmes organised there. Under the aegis of Tourism Department and District Administration, a visualisation and music programme of peacock dance was organised at Khabha Fort.

Domestic and foreign tourists who reached here saw peacocks dancing in the morning and captured their dance in cameras. At the same time, the tourists could not remain mesmerised listening to the instrumental music performed by the folk artists. Here the tourists looked at the sun rising between the mountains and also saw the ancient art culture closely.

FAMOUS ‘THAR MAHOTSAV’ TO BE HELD FROM MARCH 11-13 IN BARMER
Barmer: Famous desert festival of Rajasthan ‘Thar Mahotsav’ will be held from March 11-13. An annual event of Western Rajasthan’s Barmer district celebrates the colourful life of the desert. Filled with folk music, the event presents the glimpse of desert life. The aim of the event is to promote folk art, culture, history, tourism and handicrafts of the desert region. The festival comprised events like performances of renowned singers and poets, moustache and turban tying competitions, sand art and cultural shows.
