India taught lesson of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ to the World: Guv

Jaipur: Governor Haribhau Bagde said that India is a nation with a vibrant culture, the source of the world’s intellectual, spiritual, and cultural heritage. He said that it was India that taught the world the concept of universal equality through ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ (the world is one family). He emphasised that the upcoming centennial of India’s independence is an opportunity to reclaim India’s glory. Calling for collective efforts, he urged contemplation on India’s rich knowledge traditions and unique history to restore India as a global leader.

Bagde was addressing at the annual Jaipur Dialogues 2024 event held at a private hotel on Friday. He said that India should become an economic and cultural powerhouse of the world, stating that this is a time to return to our cultural and civilisational roots. Referring to ancient India as a global trade center, he said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ (self-reliant India) aligns with this context. The Prime Minister’s five commitments—developed India, eradicating mental colonialism, pride in heritage, unity of citizens, and a sense of duty—reflect the fundamental principles of our civilization.

Earlier, Sanjay Dixit, former Indian Administrative Service officer and founder of Jaipur Dialogues, elaborated on the broader vision of ‘Reclaiming Bharat’ under Jaipur Dialogues 2024.
