Graph of Rajasthan in JJM going up, 16,742 water connections issued in a single day

Jaipur: Jal Jeevan Mission has gained momentum due to continuous monitoring and review meetings and the graph of Rajasthan in JJM is continuously going up. On March 26, the highest number of 16,742 water connections were made in the state in a single day so far. Earlier on 25 March, 16,594 connections were made. So far, 13.11 lakh connections have been made in the financial year 2022-23.

In the daily water connections from January to March, Rajasthan has come in the top 5 states of the country. So far, 2 lakh 71 thousand 274 water connections have been made in the month of March alone. The average of this month has reached 10,434 per day. In Rajasthan, more than 38 lakh rural families are now getting water through taps.

Rajasthan ranks 12th in the country on the basis of total water connections in JJM. Rajasthan has so far spent Rs 13,248 crore under the mission. Rs 6,845 crore have been spent so far in this financial year. Rajasthan ranks 4th in the country in spending on JJM.

Jhalawar 72 percent, Bhilwara 66 percent, Kota 63, Chittorgarh 62, and Udaipur have made 60 percent progress among the top 5 districts that have achieved the targets set for the Jal Jeevan Mission this financial year. Jaipur district has made more than 1 lakh water connections.

Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Jalore, Nagaur and Karauli are the 5 districts with the least progress. The districts with low progress were instructed to make more than 25 percent connections during the last review meeting.
