Gehlot leads the pack with max rallies, State leaders dominate campaign

Jaipur: Elections for 25 Lok Sabha seats have been completed in two phases in Rajasthan. This time, instead of national leaders, the state leaders took charge of the campaign on behalf of Congress. Former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot toured the state extensively and held the maximum number of election meetings and road shows. State Congress President Govind Singh Dotasra was also close to Gehlot but remained in the second position. Former Deputy CM Sachin Pilot also campaigned for some Congress candidates while State Congress incharge Sukhjinder Randhawa made the least number of visits.

In the last two Lok Sabha elections in Rajasthan, Congress had not even opened its account, but this time the party used a different strategy to taste victory on seats. This time, instead of national leaders, it was the state Congress leaders who took charge of the campaign. Former CM Ashok Gehlot took charge of the campaign. Gehlot was also the chairman of the campaign committee; hence, he held the maximum number of election meetings and road shows in Rajasthan. Gehlot made 53 visits to 22 out of 25 LS seats in the State.

Meanwhile, PCC Chief GS Dotasra also campaigned extensively. He held 45 meetings and road shows in 20 LS seats and held a maximum of 14 meetings and road shows in his home district, Sikar.

Sachin campaigned only on 14 out of 25 LS seats. He held maximum poll meetings in TonkSawai Madhopur, Dausa, and Jaipur Rural seats. In total, Pilot held only 28 meetings and road shows.

Congress state incharge Sukhjinder Randhawa was notably inactive during LS polls, participating in only 15 events in state. Randhawa visited Jaipur multiple times but didn’t hold meetings for Jaipur’s Congress candidate Pratap Singh, covering only 13 out of 25 seats.
