FARMERS’ WELFARE IS THE FIRST PRIORITY FOR THE PM, SAYS CM
Ajmer: Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma while addressing the state-level Kisan Sammelan in Ajmer, emphasised that the welfare of farmers is a top priority for PM Narendra Modi, citing his respect for farmers, including honouring Chaudhary Charan Singh with the Bharat Ratna. Sharma highlighted initiatives like the ERCP project and the Tajewala water scheme to tackle Shekhawati’s water shortage.
He also noted the state’s commitment to farmer empowerment via MoUs worth Rs 58,000 cr, Rs 20,000 cr in short-term crop loans, 8 lakh soil health cards, & support for solar plants & food parks. During the event, Sharma transferred over Rs 700 cr to 70 lakh farmers under the CM Kisan Samman Nidhi, and provided funds for drip plants, farm ponds etc. support farmers’ welfare.
