Dhariwal: Youth be inspired to adopt ancient architecture again

Jaipur: To keep India’s ancient architecture alive in this era of modernization, Architecture Festival was organised at India Stone Mart 2022 where well-known architects from all over the country gathered under one roof at JECC located in Sitapura of Jaipur on Friday. Inaugurating the edition UDH Minister Shanti Dhariwal made a poignant appeal to the architects present in the programme, and said that architecture has an important contribution in this glorious history of India. “There are buildings here which are unique in themselves and are famous all over the world. But in this era of modernity, the ancient architecture of India is being left behind. The youth of the country are doing other work, in such a situation something should be done due to which these youth can adopt ancient architecture again,” Dhariwal said. He further added, “The temple buildings which were built earlier in Rajasthan are present even today. Millions of people come to see because the carving and construction practices employed. The architecture of Rajasthan has become an example in the whole country. Vastushastra does not mean only to build, rather make that building strong as well as beautiful. Rajasthan’s ancient architecture is dying. The children of those who were earlier artisans are now concentrating on other works. Leaving your architectural skills which is wrong. They should keep this art alive and this can happen only when the migration of those children is stopped. We need to make them financially strong.” Dhariwal also praised the Rajasthan Housing Board from the stage and the exemplary work being done by the Housing Board in Rajasthan. The Commissioner of the Rajasthan Housing Board , Pawan Arora expressed happiness over this.
