December 2024: A month of significant achievements for Bhajan Lal Government

Jaipur: December 2024 has proven to be a significant and eventful month for the Bhajan Lal government in Rajasthan. Several major governancerelated events took place during this time, showcasing the government’s administrative and political prowess. One of the most noteworthy decisions was the abolition of three divisions and nine districts, a bold and unprecedented move in the state’s political history. This decision is expected to become a landmark in the state’s governance.

Additionally, three administrative events in December have been hailed as groundbreaking in their own right. While the ‘Rising Rajasthan’ and the ERCP events garnered widespread praise and attention, the GST Council meeting in Jaisalmer on December 21 was equally remarkable and unprecedented. The Central Government sent an official letter to the state government, expressing their appreciation for the event’s exceptional organisation.

In the letter, Pankaj Kumar Singh, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, wrote: “The Government of Rajasthan has set the benchmark for organizing GST Council meetings so high that it may be difficult for the GST Council Secretariat to match it. We are at a loss for words to describe the perfection with which the entire program was conducted.

The arrangements made by the state government at tourist spots for visiting officers added an entirely new dimension to the council meeting.” Singh further wrote, “This is to place on record our sincere thanks and heartfelt appreciation for the extremely successful meeting at Jaisalmer.” Administrative experts emphasise that such official recognition from the Central Government is rare and extraordinary. This appreciation letter marks a unique administrative achievement for the Bhajan Lal Government. It is worth noting that much of the credit for this accomplishment goes to ACS Finance Akhil Arora, who played a key role in organising the event.
