Bhajan Lal Cabinet cancels 9 districts and 3 new divisions
Jaipur: A Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma was held on Saturday at the Chief Minister’s office, where important administrative decisions were made concerning employee welfare, the interests of youth, good governance in the state, and overall development. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Jogaram Patel informed the media that the Cabinet has redefined the districts and divisions established by the previous government, resulting in a total of 7 divisions and 41 districts in the state.
The Parliamentary Affairs Minister stated that previous govt had decided to create 17 new districts and 3 new divisions in last year of its tenure. In this regard, the Revenue Department issued a notification on August 5, 2023, for the creation of these districts and divisions. The announcement of 3 new districts was made just a day before code of conduct for the 2023 Assembly elections, and notification for them could not even be issued.
