6 months on, Garasiya’s body to reach Delhi from Moscow today

Jaipur: Finally, after a long fight for justice, the body of Hitendra Garasiya, lying in Russia for over six months, will reach New Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport at 9:15 am on Sunday.

Garasiya was from Godwa village in Udaipur. After an order of Raj HC & National Gen Secretary of Congress, Priyanka Gandhi raised the matter, the state government also became alert.

Assistant Commissioner Vimal Sharma working at Bikaner House, New Delhi will be present at the airport along with the team on behalf of the state government.

The body will be first handed over to the representatives of Rajasthan govt, who would hand it over to relatives.

Garasiya’s son Piyush is in New Delhi with Bundi Congress leader Charmesh Sharma. On Saturday, Garasiya’s wife Asha Garasiya and daughter Urvashi left for New Delhi.

Sharma, who has been campaigning to bring Garasiya’s body back to India for his last rites, said that according to officials the body will come safely.

All relatives have been called to New Delhi for identification after which they can leave for Udaipur. DNA test will be considered only if the body is not identified.
