53 IAS, 13 IPS officers of state nominated as observers for assembly polls

The Election Commission has announced a training programme for 66 observers ahead of the elections in UP, U’khand, Punjab, Goa & Manipur

Lucknow: Election Commission of India on Wedmesday nominated 53 IAS officers and 13 IPS officers of the state as observers for the upcoming assembly elections in five states of the country.

The Election Commission has also announced a training programme for a total of 66 observers ahead of the assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Goa and Manipur.

Special Secretary Appointment IS Dhananjay Shukla has sent a letter to the Chief Electoral Officer regarding the relaying of the information of being selected as election observers to the selected officers.

Officers posted in Delhi, who have been selected as observers, have been called for a briefing meeting at Vigyan Bhawan New Delhi while officers posted outside Delhi have been called for a briefing meeting at Uttar Pradesh 112 Bhawan Gomtinagar Extension in Lucknow which will be held in virtual mode.

All the officers selected for the post have been instructed to ensure their presence in the meeting on time.

The names of 53 IAS officers include Dr. Hari Om, Dr. Hira Lal, Dr. Akhilesh Kumar Mishra, Amod Kumar, Yogesh Kumar, Sukhlal Bharti, Udaybhan Tripathi, among others while the names of the 13 IPS officers include Dr. Ramkrishna Swarnakar, Anees Ahmed Ansari, Amit Chandra, Navneet Sekera, Dharmendra Singh, among others.
