51 leaders all set to hop in camp 'Azad'; Another jolt for Congress?

After the heartbreaking resignation of top leader Ghulam Nabi Azad, the blue days have still not passed the Congress as 51 leaders have made up their minds to resign and join the camp ‘Azad’.

The major resignations include Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand, who resigned from the party on Tuesday, in support of Azad. A joint resignation has been submitted to Party President Sonia Gandhi, reported the news agency PTI.

Ghulan Nabi Azad, one of the most prominent senior leaders in the party, who was playing the field for 5 decades in Congress, quit last week. In his resignation letter, Azad claimed that the party had been “destroyed”, blaming it on Rahul Gandhi.

Chand and several others, including former ministers Abdul Majid Wani, Manohar Lal Sharma, Gharu Ram and former MLA Balwan Singh, announced their resignations from the party.
"We have submitted a joint resignation letter to Congress president Sonia Gandhi in support of Azad," stated Singh, as quoted by PTI.
