New Delhi: A senior Delhi Police officer said that investigation into the origin of the hoax emails with bomb threats sent to Delhi schools has revealed that while the sender used a Russian IP address, the role of an organisation behind the same is being probed. More than 131 schools in Delhi and the NCR received a bomb threat email, thousands of students were evacuated. These include at least 5 schools in the southwest, 3 in the east, and 10 in South Delhi. The schools received the threats on their official email IDs around 4 am on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, special cell of Delhi Police has registered an FIR and started probe. The police are also probing any involvement of Islamic State in threat matter. Speaking to the reporters, Delhi LG VK Saxena said, “I want to assure the people of that Delhi Police is fully prepared and we will try to prevent any untoward incident from happening. Have directed the police to provide a comprehensive report.”
