341 officials’ transfers in record time spark speculation
Jaipur: The jumbo transfer list of 341 names released by the Revenue Board on Thursday has become a topic of discussion in administrative circles. The list is of Tehsildars, Naib-Tehsildars and Sub-Registrars. All the administrative processes and formalities for releasing the list were completed at a super fast pace within two days of public holidays.
The government has banned transfers, and no department can issue transfer orders without the prior approval of the government. In the present case, the Administrative Reforms Department (AR) approved the transfer order file on October 2, a holiday. On the same day, despite Gandhi Jayanti, the Revenue Department in the Secretariat was working and instructions to issue the list in a hurry were sent to the Revenue Board Ajmer. Work was done at a super fast speed in Ajmer too and on October 3, on the day of Navratra, a jumbo transfer list of 341 names was released at noon, and half of the officers of the total cadre strength of 700 were changed. Experts have remarked that transfer lists have been issued earlier in this government, but such a large list has been released for the first time.
Experts say that the homework on the list was going on for the last several days by Revenue Minister Hemant Meena. But what was the need to release the list immediately after completing all the administrative formalities in a few days? Administrative experts are looking for the reason behind this speculation.
