30 girls in Barmer turn brand ambassador of ‘Beti Bachao’
Barmer: With the aim to promote the education of the girl child, 30 girls from 30 villages of the district have been made brand ambassadors of Beti Bachao abhiyaan. The foundation has gifted a fixed deposit of thirty thousand rupees to each girl child.
On the occasion chairperson of the Ruma Devi foundation Dr Ruma Devi, Barmer district collector Lok Bandhu Yadav and many others were present. Addressing the event district collector Lok Bandhu Yadav not only appreciated the initiative but also assured that he would ensure benefits of government welfare schemes to these girl children.
In her speech, Ruma Devi said that despite so many schemes and welfare programs launched for the welfare of girl children, the condition in rural pockets is still the same. Daughters from remote bordering locations are still far from mainstream development. “I myself belong to a remote rural pocket, I can feel the pain of these daughters and it always punched me to do something for these girls, she said.”
Ruma Devi said that it is good that 30 daughters from 30 different villages became the brand ambassador of Beti Bachao in the first year of their birth. “I hope that these girls will inspire the others to give equal priority to the girl child as to the boys, “ she said.
