In two separate incidents, six children drown to death in 24 hrs

Bhavnagar: In the last 24 hours, six children drowned in two separate incidents in the state. Four children drowned to death in the Moti Vavdi village of the Bhavnagar district, and two children drowned in the Sankhali village of Patan. All six bodies have been sent for post-mortem to the Gariyadhar Community Health Centre.
According to the police, the four children from Moti Vavdi village decided to swim in the village lake. However, Jayesh Kakadiya, Montu Bhenda, Tarun Khokhani, and Mit Khokhani, did not return to their homes. Their family members discovered their footwear near the lake and assumed they drowned.
The villagers fished out the bodies of the children with the assistance of trained swimmers. All four were between the ages of 10 and 12 years.
Another tragic incident occurred when two cousins drowned in a lake in the Patan district’s Sankhali village. Kulaji Thakor, according to information received, was taking his domestic animals to the village lake to drink water.
Thakor was accompanied by two of his granddaughters and one of his grandchildren. Two of the children, however, drowned in the lake. Despite efforts to save the children, Thakor’s grandson and granddaughter drowned.
