Snehdeep Singh Kalsi on overnight fame & love

Snehdeep Singh Kalsi, a present Mumbai inhabitant, holds the position of Deputy Manager at Mahindra Finance. Snehdeep finished his studies at Ahmedabad, India. Following that, he earned a B.Tech degree from Gujarat's Charusat University-affiliated Chandubhai S. Patel Institute of Technology (CSPIT).

One of the popular songs from the Brahmastra movie starring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, Kesariya, was sung by Snehdeep in five different languages. He performed the song in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam. Really impressive, no? He had excellent and accurate pronunciation in every language, according to internet users.

Snehdeep’s video went so viral that it grabbed the attention of PM Modi and Anand Mahindra. “Came across this amazing rendition by the talented @SnehdeepSK. In addition to the melody, it is a great manifestation of the spirit of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat.’ Superb!” read the caption by PM Modi.

Opening up on the same he said, " I am deeply grateful and i know when you do something full fledged with your heart and soul, people will surely acknowledge it and understand it".

Speaking of how he has nailed the song in all five languages he said, "People are considering it as a new concept but i have been doing this for several years now. And about languages, it helps you in a better way to understand people. When i was singing it in one language i wanted it to try in more and eventually i happened".

Talking about getting the overnight attention, he explained, " You know when we travel by train there are so many junctions which come to reach your destination, small or big. I have been practicing and working hard for this throughout the years. But it is getting recognised now so it's a big junction phase which is going on right now. But the way I see it is , that i still haven't reached the destination and this just one milestone which i have achieved ".

Speaking of what destination is he said, " I need what a singer needs, the Love and the recognition of the audience and the media. What matters the most to an artist is that people should respect and appreciate is art and i want the same for me".

When asked what inspires him to do it, is it a family member or it's a passion. Snehdeep said, " My mother performs kirtan in the gurudwara and everyone from my mother's side perform kirtan there, be it playing or singing. So i think i have grown up seeing that and eventually i falled in love with it. But what really made me do it when i logged in Instagram and that one thought which striked me was what i want to post, what kind of creativity i can portray! And during my engineering in Ahmedabad i learned from guru for four and half a year. I had learned classical music from him, after which when i shifted to Bangalore i continued practicing it".

Speaking of getting offers and love from the fans, he said, " Offers will come and go but the love, i am getting is indeed the most beautiful thing to experience and i want to say that i am very thankful and grateful for the amount of love which has came my way".
