Deepika Padukone, Pooja Hegde, Tamannaah Bhatia and Urvashi Rautela spin to ‘Ghoomar’ sung live by Mame Khan

Cannes (France): The India Pavillion was inaugurated at the Cannes Film Festival on Wednesday in the presence of several Indian dignitaries. Apart from the extensive Bollywood and television celebrity list that attended the event, Union Minister for I&B, Youth Affairs & Sports, Anurag Thakur was a part of the inauguration as well. Thakur shared a video on his Twitter that showcased Deepika Padukone, Pooja Hegde, Tamannaah Bhatia and Urvashi Rautela dancing to the beats of Ghoomar as folk singer Mame Khan sang it beautifully.

 

 

The Cannes Film Festival was graced by the presence of many celebrities and among them was Rajasthani folk singer Mame Khan. He became the first-ever folk singer to attend the Cannes event. During the commencement, Khan was seen asking Deepika to perform her iconic Ghoomar dance while he sang the original folk version. In response, Deepika asked Tamannaah, Urvashi and Pooja to join her. The actresses came forward holding each other’s hands and did the iconic Ghoomar spin to the beats.

As soon as Anurag Thakur shared the video, it became instantly viral with many calling it a beautiful video and a magnificent representation of India on an international platform.

Deepika Padukone is attending the Cannes Film Festival as a jury member this year. Meanwhile, Tamannaah Bhatia, Pooja Hegde and Urvashi Rautela are a part of the India Pavillion, a platform to showcase Indian cinema across linguistic, cultural and regional diversity, to forge international partnerships in distribution, production, filming in India, script development, technology, promoting film sales and syndication.
