Couture over comfort: Deepika Padukone battles long dress trails to reach the steps of victory at Cannes

Cannes (France): Deepika Padukone has a way with fashion and no matter what she dons, she looks the most radiant among the crowd. Similarly, the actress shined in tangerine in a sea of black when she posed with the jury members on the fifth day of the Cannes Film Festival. Wearing an orange custom made Mohammed Ashi gown, the actress walked the red carpet for the screening of ‘The Innocent’. She paired her dress with an orange lip shade and mint blue drop earrings from Farah Khan World. The actress looked drop-dead gorgeous in her attire and shined brightly among the jury members who specifically wore black.

Although the dress looked perfect on Deepika, it became her biggest struggle on the red carpet. The huge trail behind the dress constantly kept tangling between her legs and she repeatedly had to pick it up and place it behind her before posing for the cameras. A real struggle is what every fashion enthusiast would say about the entire scenario.

The actress was undoubtedly trolled for her choice of attire and this time, it was somewhat brought upon by herself. One user wrote, “Fashion has a price. 😮” and another commented, “Designer must have lost his Job”. A comment read, “When they can't manage why do they wear such dresses. That too with a long tail. It's so embarrassing and make fun of themselves” while another user wrote, “I mean , why wear such a dress where you need assistance, when it's a struggle? What's the point?”

Now, it may be a struggle to carry this dress, but would a comfort outfit give you the feel of a queen like this one does? Probably not.
