When Shakti Kapoor was accused of promising an aspiring actress work in exchange for S*X, the actor said that the girl had provoked him to engage in S*X talk

Celebrities discussing their time on the casting couch in public has become extremely regular and a popular topic of conversation. The dark side of Bollywood has been acknowledged by certain B-Town celebrities, including Radhika Apte, Ranveer Singh, Ayushmann Khurrana, Swara Bhasker, Kangana Ranaut, and others. While some people talked about their casting couch experiences, others, like Shakti Kapoor, were accused of being predators who offered assignments in exchange for sexual favours. It's true what you just read!

Shakti Kapoor, who dominated Hindi film in the 1980s and 1990s, was in the news in 2005 for all the wrong reasons. After it was revealed that he promised an 'aspiring actress'—who was actually an undercover journalist—work in Bollywood in return for having sex, he became the centre of a significant scandal. The seasoned actor's lewd conversations were taped since it was a sting operation. The Raja Babu actor was then threatened with a ban from the business. According to reports, Shakti Kapoor has been prohibited from acting in any films or television programmes by the Film and Television Producers' Guild of India. They urged him to express regret to "all those whom he has insulted and slandered."

However, Shakti claimed in his defence that the tapes were altered and that the female reporter had lured him into talking about sex. He said, “I am pained at the way the channel framed me. I have no doubt it was an attempt to tarnish my reputation.” The ChaalBaaz star even claimed that the undercover reporter kept calling him for six months, threatening to commit suicide if he did not meet her. Shakti Kapoor even held a press conference where he shared his side of the story and revealed the woman reporter asked her to meet at a hotel. He had shared,  “I did go to meet her at Hotel Tulip Star. I am not a saint or god. I am a healthy human being. I admit that I did wrong, but the girl provoked me to make certain gestures and indulge in s*x talk.”

Shakti Kapoor dominated Hindi film on a professional level with his depiction of comedic and evil parts. He has appeared in more than 600 films. He recently starred in the Malayalam movie 'Lucifer' and the web series 'Guilty Minds.'
