Vaibhavi Upadhyaya, a star of Sarabhai Vs. Sarabhai, died in a car accident

A car tragedy claimed the life of actor Vaibhavi Upadhyaya on Tuesday. She was best known for her role as Rosesh's love interest in the second season of the hit television sitcom Sarabhai Vs. Sarabhai.

JD Majethia, the TV producer and creator of Sarabhai Vs. Sarabhai, broke the news of Vaibhavi's passing.He wrote on Twitter, “Life is so unpredictable. A very fine actress, dear friend Vaibhavi Upadhyay popularly known as Jasmine of Sarabhai vs Sarabhai passed away. She met with an accident in north. Family will bring her to Mumbai tomorrow morning around 11 am for last rites . RIP vaibhavi 🙏.”

According to a story in the Times of India, Vaibhavi and her fiancé were traveling in Himachal Pradesh when their automobile lost control in a sharp bend. After learning about the mishap, the actor's brother immediately traveled to Himachal Pradesh.

Deven Bhojani, an actor-director, is equally stunned by Vaibhavi's demise. He shared her photo on social media and wrote, “Shocking! A very fine actress and a dear friend Vaibhavi Upadhyay, popularly known as “ Jasmine “ of Sarabhai vs Sarabhai passed away. She met with an accident in north a few hours back. Rest in peace Vaibhavi #SarabhaiVsSarabhai ⁦⁦#Hatsoff @sats45 @TheRupali.”

Performing the part of Monisha in the hit sitcom Sarabhai Vs. Sarabhai was Rupali Ganguly, reacted to Bhojani’s tweet and wrote, “This is not fair ….. gone too soon ……” She added on Instagram, “Can’t believe this..”

Additionally, Vaibhavi collaborated with Ayush Mehra in the films Chhapaak and Kya Qasoor Hai Amla Ka in addition to the online series Please Find Attached. Her most recent Instagram photo was from a trip she took to the mountains in 2019.

The actor's funeral will be held in Mumbai on Wednesday at 11 a.m.
