The women gang shines completely in Homi Adajania's 'Saas Bahu aur Flamingo'

A few days back, when the trailer of Homi Adajania's debut OTT show 'Saas Bahu aur Flamingo' was released, it created a stir amongst the audience. With an ensemble cast and an amazing trailer, the show promised to be a fun and thrilling ride. Well, the show is finally out on Disney+Hotstar and we must say it surpasses our expectations!

Indian audiences do have a proclivity towards crime thrillers and when it is a women's gang, it just adds cherry on top. 'Saas Bahu aur Flamingo' takes the audience into the world of badass women who are lethal, irrepressible, and not afraid to own their choices. When we hear about saas-bahu, we immediately think of the typical saas-bahu sagas but this one is different and different in a big sense. Here you will not see the saas-bahu shedding tears rather you will see only blood-shedding. 

It is a story in the inaccessible borderlands that revolves around matriarch Savitri aka Rani Baa (Dimple Kapadia), her daughters-in-law, Bijli and Kajal, and her daughter Shanta. Rani Baa runs a company named Rani Cooperative that deals in handicrafts. However, this business is just for the front end, at the back these women run one of the biggest cocaine manufacturing brands known as Flamingo and her empire runs within the subcontinent and stretches to Europe. Rani Baa is proud of the empire she has built for herself. 

With an ensemble cast including Dimple Kapadia, Radhika Madan, Angira Dhar, and Isha Talwar in pivotal roles, the show completely belongs to its women gang. Each of them has portrayed their role with utmost supremacy. Dimple Kapadia has proven once again if you give her any role and she will nail it with perfection. The other girls Radhika, Angira, and Isha have added weight to the show with their amazing acting skills. Radhika is a revelation. Isha and Angira too have a long way to go. 

The show also stars Naseeruddin Shah,  Ashish Verma, Varun Mitra, Udit Arora, Deepak Dobriyal, Monica Dogra, and Jimit Trivedi. Deepak Dobriyal who has always played a comic character in Homi's other productions will be a surprise element for all as here you can see him as the antagonist and his characterization will give you sleepless nights. 

Homi Adajania is the creator and director of the show and we must say his debut into the ott world will add another feather to his hits. The detailing for everything- costumes, jewelry, locations, language will leave you spellbound. The ferocity and drama in the show are very engaging and will keep the audience hooked till the last episode.  Full marks are to be given to the cinematography of the show.
