Kangana Ranaut says Ram Gopal Varma's praise for her is a reassurance as she cast herself as Indira Gandhi in her directorial debut, Emergency

Ram Gopal Varma took to his Twitter account and shared an old interview of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. The filmmaker also sighted an uncanny resemblance between her and Kangana Ranaut as she plays Gandhi in her upcoming film Emergency.

Kangana shared Ram Gopal Varma’s tweet on her Instagram story as she is banned from Twitter. She wrote, “Ha ha thank you sir it's a reassuring considering I cast myself in this role..”

 

Kangana had unveiled the first look teaser of Emergency recently and impressed one and all with her Indira Gandhi avatar. Kangana had shared the video clip and wrote, “Presenting ‘Her’ who was called ‘Sir’ #Emergency shoot begins.” Earlier this week, Anupam Kher also revealed his first look from the film. He plays the role of Jai Prakash Narayan in the film. 

Emergency is written and directed by Kangana Ranaut. The film is produced by Renu Pitti and Kangana Ranaut under Manikarnika Films. The screenplay and dialogues are by Ritesh Shah.
