Rekha Is Wearing An Archived Ensemble Originally Designed For Karan Johar’s Takht. Actress's Outfit Will Take Your Breath Away
Takht, a historical drama by Karan Johar that was first planned in 2019, may have been postponed or delayed for unidentified reasons. However, a magnificent dress created by Manish Malhotra for the landmark film has come to light and was most recently flaunted by movie legend Rekha as she hugged the cover of a well-known magazine.
Manish published Rekha's images wearing an old outfit on his Instagram account. He even sent Rekha a lengthy email in which he mentioned her common affinity for Indian fashion. He said that styling and creating for her was a great experience and that her dedication is motivating.
He wrote, “Rekha Ji and I have always shared a great passion for Indian Fashion; Having worked with her for so many years now, each time has been an experience in itself. Rekha Ji always teases me about how she’s met another person who has a great eye for detail, much like herself. Her passion is inspiring, and it’s been such a memorable experience styling and designing for her for the photo shoot.”
“What has given me the most joy is watching her excitement, which was at par with me. Long hours of conversation, spending time with her for costume fittings, and a series of discussions and meetings. The pure love she has for fabrics, embroideries, and colour, a passion that we both share deeply, it’s been extraordinarily inspiring. We have a mutual admiration for each other, which is one of the reasons we make such a good team,” he added.
Regarding Takht, it was advertised as a historical drama that told the tale of Aurangzeb, the Mughal emperor, and Dara Shikoh, his rival brother, and their struggle for the crown. Ranveer Singh and Vicky Kaushal were rumoured to play Dara Shikoh and Aurangzeb, respectively, in the movie.
Anil Kapoor played Shah Jahan, Kareena Kapoor played Jahanara Begum, and Alia Bhatt played Dilras Banu in the ensemble. Janhvi Kapoor and Bhumi Pednekar also contributed to this masterpiece.
