Karishma Sawant: Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai has changed my life

Karishma Sawant who is seen as Aarohi bids goodbye to Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai (YRKKH) as the long-running show heads towards its fourth generation. The fiction is being produced by Rajan Shahi's Directors Kut Production.

"Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai has changed my life. I became an actor on the set, what else can I say? It gave me a career that I dreamt of," she says.

Shooting the last leg of the show has been an emotional experience for the actor. "Well, I did not expect it to be emotional. I thought I would be fine, but I did end up getting emotional. Not only was I going to miss the offscreen bond, but also the characters. I will miss the world we created," she adds.

On her takeaways from the role of Aarohi, considering that she received immense love for the part, Karishma says, "I will cherish the memories created with the entire team and that set which felt like home. I loved playing Aarohi. It started with some shades and how life changed her was phenomenal. She only lived for her daughter. It taught me that motherhood can change you for good."

So much has been said about the sibling bond between Akshara and Aarohi. "Akshara and Aarohi’s relationship wasn’t easy but one thing was sure that deep down, family is family and they always knew that and would have each other’s back in times of trouble," she answers.

Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai is the iconic show which changed the lives of many for good. "All the best thu thu thu," adds Karishma.

Even though she is yet to meet the new bunch of actors, she congratulates the entire cast for the next leg.

So what are the kinds of roles that you want to take up after Aarohi? "I just want to give my best to whatever comes my way with all my heart as I always do," she ends.
