It’s like a different kind of inner tranquility: Monika Singh on Maha Shivratri

Actress Monika Singh, who has been part of shows such as Tulsidham Ke Laddu Gopal, Guddan Tumse Naa Ho Payega, Kulfi Kumar Bajewala, and Bahut Pyar Karte Hai, to name some, is excited to celebrate Maha Shivratri with her friends and family. She says embracing the spirit of the festival has given her inner peace.

She said, “It's like a different kind of inner tranquility. For me, Shivaratri is more than just a festival, it's a deeply meaningful and spiritually enriching celebration. Shivaratri is not merely a festival, it's a transformative experience that goes beyond the realms of conventional celebrations, offering a spiritual oasis amidst the hustle of life.”

“Shivaratri in India feels incredibly special to me, almost like no other festival. It marks the day when Lord Shiva, setting aside his ascetic life, tied the knot with Goddess Parvati. On this occasion, all gods and goddesses come together, showering blessings upon us,” she added.

Monika observes a fast on Maha Shivratri, and meditates along with her family.

“I also visit the temple, participate in rituals, and engage in meditation during the auspicious Shivaratri night. This particular night holds a serene moment, and my entire family and friends gather at home. We conduct prayers, meditate together, and the experience brings about a unique sense of peace and profound mental calmness,” she concluded.
