International Men's Day: It’s an amazing day and must be celebrated, says Sonal Panvar
Actress Sonal Panvar, who has been seen in shows such as Woh Apna Sa, Piya Albela, web series such as Faceless, Maya 2, and Candy, and is currently a part of Happu Ki Ultan Paltan, is happy to celebrate International Men’s Day. The actress adds that it’s important to acknowledge the efforts that men put in as well as women.
“I think it’s an amazing thing to just celebrate Men’s Day and acknowledge their contribution to society. They deserve it for being who they are, I’m glad we celebrate a day like this. Women’s Day is hyped but that too has started in the past few years, when everyone talked about women’s contributions, efforts and struggles as well. We decided to celebrate Women’s Day to pay them respect, but I agree Men’s Day is not celebrated that much. I think they also deserve the same respect and love. Both men and women have their own beauty. And I’m glad we are doing that now,” she says.
Women express themselves and also talk about their emotions whereas men do not express them, she says, adding, “Women have been expressive from a very young age, they always had their mothers to discuss a lot about physical and mental changes, whereas boys while growing up had no such relation with their father/ mother, they kept everything inside and were more focused on what to do with life and career. I think that’s a big reason they never explored those emotions. I think if someone had told them to express themselves at that age, things would have been different.”
She says, “I hate it personally when I hear that men don’t cry or can’t cry. I mean why? Why can’t they just express themselves like normal human beings? I really like my father in this case, he is the most expressive when with me. But I think if I talk about our industry, the world of emotions they explore I think every man is expressive! And I personally like those who can express themselves well.”
