In connection with Aryan Khan's extortion investigation involving Sameer Wankhede, the CBI has summoned model Munmun Dhamecha
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has reportedly summoned model Munmun Dhamecha to record her statement in the ongoing investigation of Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan's extortion case against former NCB zonal director Sameer Wankhede. Munmun was one of the accused who was arrested in the Mumbai drug cruise case in October 2021.
In May of this year, the CBI filed a criminal complaint against Sameer for allegedly asking Shah Rukh Khan for Rs 25 crore as a bribe in exchange for assistance in freeing Aryan from the narcotics case. He has been charged with violating Sections 7, 7A, and 12 of the Prevention of Corruption Act as well as Sections 388 (extortion by threat) and 120 B (criminal conspiracy) of the IPC. India Today reports that the CBI has now called Munmun to give testimony in the extortion and corruption case against Sameer Wankhede. According to the report, she will appear before the CBI today.
Earlier, the SIT established by NCB finally removed Aryan's name from the case following accusations of corruption and "inconsistencies" in the case. According to the CIA, Aryans were "deliberately targeted." Additionally, it was recently reported that the CBI may contact SRK and Aryan to obtain their statements in the bribery case. A source had told Hindustan Times, "We will soon record the statements of Aryan Khan, who was arrested by NCB, and Shah Rukh Khan, from whom ₹25 crore was demanded, by the accused Kiran Gosavi and Sanville D’Souza at the behest of Wankhede. Recording their statements is necessary to get to the bottom of the conspiracy."
In the meantime, Sameer Wankhede is protected from any CBI action by the Bombay High Court.
