“I am more scared of Rohit Shetty, than the stunt itself,” says COLORS’ ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi 14’ contestant Shalin Bhanot

India’s first stunt-based reality show ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’ is all set to make a comeback with its 14th edition. It promises nail-biting stunts, thrilling tasks, and moments of sheer bravery that will keep viewers on the edge of their seats. Taking action to Romania for the first time, this season revolves around new tales of fear, titled 'Darr Ki Nayi Kahaaniyaan' in Romania. 1.    This season of Khatron Ke Khiladi will be shot at a different location, what is your expectation – how do you feel about the fear of the unknown? 
A.    This season of Khatron Ke Khiladi will be shot at a different location, and it is brilliant. There is no fear of the unknown; there is excitement and anticipation for the unknown. I am eager to discover what the new location in Romania, Europe, will bring to us and Khatron Ke Khiladi.

2.    What are the five essential items you've brought with you to Romania? 
A.    I have carried a few essential items with me to Romania that are very close to my heart and much needed to win this season. These essentials include my parents' blessings, religious items for worship, my fans' good wishes, memories of my pet Swag, and a lot of self-belief and the real me, which is Shalin.
 
3.    From your perception of Rohit Shetty, what kind of stunt do you think he would curate specifically for you?  
A.    When it comes to Rohit Shetty, he can create any stunt for me. I will be more scared of him than the stunt itself. So, whatever he curates for me, my focus will be more on not upsetting him rather than on understanding the stunt.
 
4.    How did your family react when you told them you were joining 'Khatron Ke Khiladi 14’ ?
A.    When I told my family that I was joining 'Khatron Ke Khiladi 14,' my father was especially excited. He was giving me all his positive energy. My mom, like any mother, was worried and very nervous about it, giving me some advice. She told me to take care of myself and stay calm. But at the end of the day, they are very happy and excited. This is the kind of show they like and watch. They have always been waiting for me to do this show, and now I am finally doing it.
 
5.    Name the top three things/ people you will miss while you’re away (things/ people or pets) .
A.    I will miss my pet Swag the most; he is like my baby. Secondly, I will miss my parents, and then my staff, because in Romania I must do everything on my own.
 
6.    Which contestant are you most excited to compete against? And who do you think will be the first to lose a challenge or be eliminated?
A.    I don’t know; I am not looking forward to competing with anyone else. I am looking forward to competing with one contestant, myself (Shalin Bhanot). I love competing with myself. I don’t want anybody to lose, and I don’t care about anybody else’s lows. My main concern is to give my best and survive until the end.

7.    You have participated in a reality show previously, do you think this will give you an edge over the rest of the contestants?
A.    No, I don’t think so because this show is a completely different platform and experience from what I have done before. There was no lion in the last show; I was the only lion in my previous reality show. Now, I will face real lions and snakes. There is no advantage since this is an entirely different show. In fact, I wish I had some previous experience in dealing with lions or snakes. 

8.    From the previous seasons which is the one KKK contestant whom you draw inspiration from? 
A.    Given my history and who I am, I don't take advice from others. The same applies to my approach before coming on the show. I didn’t take any advice from anyone because I wanted to explore life and the show by myself.

9.    Which stunt are you dreading to perform? 
A.    I am not a very adventurous person, so anything related to adventure, heights, and water excites and scares me. Each stunt is exciting and scary for me.
 
10.    What kind of special preparations have you undertaken to pull off the stunts in 'Khatron Ke Khiladi 14'? 
A.    I have started reciting a lot of mantras and chanting to keep my mind peaceful. I have also started worshiping Mata Rani because, I believe it will help me perform all the stunts well and encourage me.
