Exclusive : “I feel the most comfortable in doing Hindi” says Raashii Khanna
Raashii Khanna is currently basking in the glory of the recently released web series Farzi in which she plays an RBI officer who joins Vijay Sethupathi’s team to bust a counterfeiting racket. The actress also topped the list of IMDb’s Popular Indian Celebrities global trend list The actress spoke exclusively to Ashish Tiwari of First India on her character and more.
Speaking on how she started her journey she said , “When I started I didn’t knew what acting was , i had no acting related goals. After Madras Cafe i got multiple south opportunities so I never thought i’ll come back to bollywood. I believe this was god’s plan for me.“
She added , “I got the Dharma film as an offer , so it was all destiny but at the same time a lot of hard-work went behind earning every bit of it. There’s a lot of uncertainty in this Industry. Success is the only mantra that will help you survive here”
Opening up on how she deals with her highs and lows she shared “Professionally there are times when you face lows , in south the fans took everything very personal. As a public figure one is always open to trolls and discussion. And at the same time if a picture fails you are easily replaceable , now highs and lows don’t hit me hard i just learn and keep getting better”
The actress’s recent release was Farzi speaking on that she shared , “I was not narrated any story for Farzi , They had decided that I was Megha . For me I knew its Raj And DK also Shahid Kapoor I signed it with my eyes closed . In their movies and shows their girl characters are very strong and prominent and when I heard the narration it blew my mind”
She added “I feel the most comfortable in Hindi , even while shooting during Farzi my director called me Sherni because this is my language and i feel i can explore more here. I never equated happiness with money , so I relate to my character Megha “
Raashii will next be seen in the film Yodha which marks her first film with Dharma Productions. The film also stars Sidharth Malhotra and Disha Patani.
