OMG 2 Review
Director - Amit Rai

Rating – 4 Stars
Duration - 159.10 min

Following the success of his previous narrative works, Road To Sangam and Tingya, writer and director Amit Rai spins yet another nuanced and incisive tale about family and the value of sex education.

The movie takes the topic of sex education and humorously presents it, making it both amusing and enlightening.

The main character of the movie is (Pankaj) Kanti Sharan Mudgal, a straightforward, industrious, ardent follower of Lord Shiva; a devoted father and husband who wants the best for his family and children. Consequently, tells the tale of every parent-child interaction.

Vivek, the son of Kanti, is humiliated and ridiculed because he just enjoyed himself in the lavatory at school. He gets dismissed from school because a video of it was produced.

Kanti, who is unable to endure social embarrassment, realises that his kid has been the victim of disinformation and misdirection. The messenger of Lord Shiva, played by Akshay Kumar, intervenes at that precise moment to grant his requests. He is led towards truth and empowerment by this intervention.

Motivated by the messenger of his Lord, Kanti accuses the whole school of failing to provide his son with the advice and knowledge required to handle the issue at hand.

The second half of the movie features a fierce courtroom struggle after the first half establishes the plot. It also introduces Yami Gautam as Kamini Maheshwari, who expertly defends the institution.

The courtroom drama is the heart of the movie; it is here that the director really drives home his thesis about how society struggles with ingrained taboos related to sex education.

Akshay Kumar, who plays the role of the Messenger of Lord Shiva, aids and directs Kanti in his combat and manages pressure and moral quandaries.

The entire purpose of the film is to offer a sensible and responsible perspective on the significance of sex education in the classroom. In the absence of this, children will continue to base their judgements primarily on information found outside of the school.

Additionally, the movie stars Pawan Malhotra as the Judge, Govind Namdev as Pujari, Arun Govil as the Principal, and Brijendra Kala as Doctor, all of whom excel in their respective roles and advance the plot.

The songs Har Har Mahadev and Oonchi Oonchi Waadi, together with the upbeat background music, have contributed character to the movie and are already popular with viewers. In the end, it delivers something really original and novel, packaged in subdued humour and superb dialogue that upholds the dignity for family watching.

OMG 2 is a new age film that is captivating and deals with delicate themes that can only be resolved if we talk about them. It is not a commercial film. The director expertly blends sensitivity and depth to address relevant issues and cultural taboos while fusing amusement with the critical conversation on sex education.

A must-see movie for parents, teachers, and teenagers.
