COLORS’ ‘Laughter Chefs Unlimited Entertainment’: “Vicky and I are not cooking experts, but we know how to keep the audience entertained”, says Ankita Lokhande
COLORS is all set to serve 'Laughter Chefs Unlimited Entertainment', a one-of-a-kind culinary-comedy crossover that brings an extravaganza of non-stop entertainment. Twelve popular entertainers are entering a chaotic kitchen for an epic cooking showdown that's sure to be a blast. From messing up recipes to cracking jokes, they're poised to stir up a storm of laughter. This kitchen will be graced by stars donning the chef’s hat including Krushna Abhishek – Kashmera Shah, Vicky Jain – Ankita Lokhande, Rahul Vaidya – Aly Goni, Reem Sameer Shaikh - Jannat Zubair, Karan Kundrra - Arjun Bijlani, and Sudesh Lehri – Nia Sharma. Adding the tadka of her humour is the one and only comedy queen Bharti Singh, with Celebrity Chef Coach Harpal Singh Sokhi lending a helping hand to the novice chefs and rating their dishes. Among the laughter chefs, Ankita Lokhande shares her experience of stepping aboard this laugh riot.
1. What drew you to participate in the show that combines cooking and comedy?
A. Taking part in COLORS' unique culinary and comedy crossover is a pretty big deal for me. Cooking has never been my strong suit, so the idea of diving into something completely new, while also entertaining viewers, got me excited. After coming out of the BIGG BOSS house, I had such a blast working with COLORS that I was eager to keep the momentum going. It's been such a fun journey with them, and I just knew this experience would be full of surprises and learning moments.
2. Which celebrity do you see as your biggest competition and why?
A. As Vicky and I both don’t know how to cook very well, so I think everybody. Vicky and I are not cooking experts, but we know how to keep the audience entertained.
3. What do you hope viewers will take away from Laughter Chefs Unlimited Entertainment?
A. I think the audience is going to have a blast watching us cook on the show. It's not every day they get to see celebs like us trying our hand in the kitchen! And with the whole gang – Bharti, Krushna, Sudesh sir, Kashmera, my husband Vicky and me, there's going to be so much laughter and fun. I think people are in for a real treat, seeing us all cooking and joking around together.
4. How will you strike a balance between managing the chaos of the kitchen and offering unlimited entertainment?
A. I can't cook because I have an injury in my hand, so my husband will be doing all the cooking. But I'll be there, telling him what to do and what not to do. We'll work together as a team, and I'm sure we'll do just fine.
5. With your experience in the entertainment industry, how are you planning to approach humour in the cooking challenges?
A. This is a big deal for me because I've never cooked before. I'm challenging myself to learn something new and see if I can be entertaining while doing it. It's all about trying something different and seeing how it goes.
6.What is the biggest kitchen mishap you have encountered in real life and how do you think you will handle mishaps on the show?
A. I remember as a kid, while I was helping my mother prepare pooranpoli, I burnt myself with hot ghee. After that incident, I realised that cooking is not for me.
7. How do you handle the pressure of the competition, especially if things don’t go as planned?
A. To be honest, I haven't really thought about how I'll handle it. I'm just going with the flow. But one thing I know for sure is that I'm here to entertain. Even though I don't have a plan, I'm sure I'll find a way to make it fun for everyone watching.
8. If your cooking style were a super-hero what would its superpower be?
A. I’d be Ginnie, I would just blink my eyes, and everything would be ready.
9. Picture yourself as a dish on a restaurant menu, what quirky name would you give yourself?
A. Aloo Kurkuri because potatoes can fit in anywhere. I feel like I'm the same way – I can be comfortable wherever you put me.
10. Share a hilarious kitchen disaster from your past cooking that still makes you laugh?
A. No kitchen memories, I once boiled milk during the inauguration of our home and apart from that I have never tried cooking.
11. Describe your cooking style in three words, using only ingredients commonly found in the pantry?
A. Namkeen, sweet and laal-mirch!
12. For survival, if you have to cook something what will that dish be?
A. Aloo ki sabji and chapati.
