Aryan Khan and Shah Rukh Khan could be asked to give testimony in the Sameer Wankhede bribery case

Aryan Khan, the son of Shah Rukh Khan, was detained in an alleged narcotics case back in October 2021, which garnered media attention. Sameer Wankhede, a former zonal director for the Narcotics Control Bureau, is currently being investigated. The Central Bureau of Investigation is looking into a claim that Sameer Wankhede asked Shah Rukh for a Rs 25 crore payment in exchange for keeping his son Aryan out of the narcotics case. According to the most recent report, the CBI is expected to contact SRK and his son Aryan to record their testimonies in relation to the issue.

According to Hindustan Times, King Khan's allegations are significant since the accused Kiran Gosavi and Sanville D'Souza requested Rs 25 crore from him.  An official told the portal, "We will soon record the statements of Aryan Khan, who was arrested by NCB, and Shah Rukh Khan, from whom ₹25 crore was demanded, by the accused Kiran Gosavi and Sanville D’Souza at the behest of Wankhede. Recording their statements is necessary to get to the bottom of the conspiracy." According to the report, the CBI 'partially interrogated' Sameer in May, but the organisation is still awaiting the court's consent before formally questioning him. Until June 23, Sameer is protected from arrest by an interim order from the Bombay High Court.

The NCB detained Aryan on October 2, 2021, and on October 28, 2021, he was released on bond. Aryan's arrest is connected to the extortion attempt even though no narcotics were discovered on him. Aryan was then described by the CIA as an 'international dealer.' The CIA eventually claimed that Aryans were 'deliberately targeted.'

On May 11, the CBI arrested Sameer and four other people for suspected criminal conspiracy and extortion threats. These individuals were KP Gosavi and D'Souza, two private citizens, and NCB Superintendent VV Singh. In the FIR filed, the CBI alleged that "Gosavi, D'Souza and others had entered into a conspiracy to extort an amount of Rs 25 crores from the family members of Aryan by threatening them with the accusation of offences of possession of narcotics substances. This amount was finally settled for Rs 18 crores. A token amount of Rs 50 lakh was also taken by Gosavi and his aide D'Souza but later a part of this amount of Rs 50 lakh bribe money was returned back by them."

The Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer Sameer Wankhede and D'Souza were previously questioned by the CBI on the issue. However, Sameer has refuted all of the accusations, claiming that the CBI's move against him is an 'act of revenge.'
