Animal worldwide box office collection day one: Ranbir Kapoor's Animal is off to a flying start around the world. The Sandeep Reddy Vanga film, which debuted in theaters on December 1, made history by delivering the highest non-holiday opening for a Hindi film. On day one, Animal grossed 116 crore at the global box office.

The film's producers took to X (formerly Twitter) to announce that Animal had a 116 crore opening day gross. This also confirms early predictions that Ranbir Kapoor's crime drama will gross a whopping 100 crore worldwide. Animal's makers shared a poster with the caption, "The biggest non-holiday opening in Hindi cinema history." 116 crores worldwide

Animal was released in tandem with Meghna Gulzar's period drama Sam Bahadur, which starred Vicky Kaushal. Animal's massive opening day haul at the worldwide box office puts it right in the middle of two Shah Rukh Khan releases this year, Jawan (125.05 crore) and Pathaan (106 crore).

Animal also features lead performances by Bobby Deol, Anil Kapoor, and Rashmika Mandanna. In the film, Ranbir plays Anil Kapoor's vengeful and angry son. According to a report, "Ranbir is in top form, and becomes Sandeep Reddy Vanga Vanga's Animal in the truest sense." He's the perfect mix of vulnerability and villainy. He instantly makes you fall in love with him, and even when he's being shot or punched in the face, you feel bad for him and never wish him dead."

Meanwhile, it criticized the film's misogynistic tone, saying, "The on-screen chemistry between Ranbir and Rashmika is definitely sizzling, but soon, Sandeep gets in his element showing his hero turn into a chauvinist and misogynist with such ease, and then elevating the idea of a toxic marriage."
