Amitabh Bachchan says, "formal permission taken for shoot.."; Gave his remarks on 'no helmet' issue

Amitabh Bachchan recently shared a photo of himself riding pillion on a stranger's motorbike on his Instagram account. He acknowledged the rider in his post and expressed gratitude for getting him to the shooting site in time. Social media completely exploded with the image. After a tree blocked the road not long after, Anushka Sharma was also spotted riding a bike to evade the gridlock. Amitabh Bachchan and Anushka Sharma were both caught riding bikes without helmets, according to internet users. Mumbai traffic Police also reacted to Netizens tweets about Anushka and Big B’s helmet-less pictures, and Mumbai Police tweeted, “We have shared this with traffic branch.” Amitabh Bachchan has since clarified the image, saying that he was actually only filming on the street and not riding anywhere at all.

Amitabh Bachchan responded to the criticism of his lack of a helmet in his most recent blog post by stating that he was filming in a Mumbai street with official clearance. The fact of the matter is that this is on location shoot on the street of Mumbai.. It is Sunday.. formal permission taken for shoot at a lane in Ballard Estate… permission sought for Sunday because all offices are shut  and there is no public or traffic… One lane in the region BLOCKED off by Police permission for shoot… the lane barely 30-40 meters… The dress I wear is my costume for the film…” he wrote.

Amitabh Bachchan continued by saying that he was merely 'fooling around' by riding a crew member's bike and that they weren't actually going anywhere, just creating the idea that they were traveling quickly via bike. Big B clarified, however, that if there was ever a "problem of punctuality," he would unquestionably choose to ride his bike instead, wear a helmet, and follow all applicable traffic laws.

“I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE THAT DOES THIS… had seen Akshay Kumar do this to get to location on time… wore helmet etc., on the bike of his Security person… no one could recognise.. and it was rapid and efficient… and it worked well…” he wrote.

Concluding the blog post, Amitabh Bachchan wrote, “And sorry, people, for causing concern and giving any wrong concept of breaking traffic rules… I did not…love all of you…”
