Alia Bhatt REVEALS on what she learned from Shah Rukh Khan & Sanjay Leela Bhansali
Alia Bhatt is one of Bollywood's most brilliant actresses. After starring in Karan Johar's 2012 film Student Of The Year alongside Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra, Alia went on to appear in films such as Highway, 2 States, Udta Punjab, Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, Dear Zindagi, and others. She co-starred in Dear Zindagi with Shah Rukh Khan, and the actress has frequently expressed her affection and regard for King Khan. In a recent interview, she shared what she learned from him during the filming of Dear Zindagi. She also discussed her collaboration with filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali on Gangubai Kathiawadi.
Alia Bhatt told Vogue Singapore that each of her films has taught her something new. During the filming of Dear Zindagi, she learned a lot from Shah Rukh Khan. “With Dear Zindagi, I learnt so much from Shah Rukh Khan. He made such an impact on the way I am and how I behave on set. His behaviour, respect, inclination towards everything in a scene—I learnt a lot from that,” she said.
While filming Gangubai Kathiawadi, Alia stated that it felt like she was back in school. This time, though, it was an acting school. “Once you walk out of a Sanjay Leela Bhansali set, you’re no longer the same person. Like Ranveer [Singh] says, you’ve been “Bhansali-fied” (laughs). It’s working with the people who make you more prepared for the next journey, but it’s not like you’ll ever have the answers. You’ll learn with each film as long as you’re open and you’ve walked onto the set deciding that you don’t have all the answers,” she said.
Alia Bhatt was most recently seen in Karan Johar's Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani and her feature film debut, Heart Of Stone. She'll be seen next in Vasan Bala's Jigra, which she'll also co-produce with Dharma Productions.
