"Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has beautiful eyes as she eats fish daily", says BJP Politician

One of the most beautiful divas in the nation is Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Nearly 30 years after she was elected Miss World, her beauty remains unrivalled. Despite her accomplishments, she frequently receives obscene comments for completely irrelevant reasons. Now, a BJP minister in Maharashtra has stirred up debate with his comments about regularly eating fish. According to the political figurehead, eating fish every day will make one's "eyes as beautiful" as Aishwarya's.

Recently, a video of state-tribal minister Vijaykumar Gavit speaking at a public event in the Nandurbar region in northern Maharashtra has made the news. Due to his comments, the video became an instant sensation on social media, and internet users have been going crazy over it ever since.

In the video, the minister said, “People who consume fish on a daily basis develop smooth skin and their eyes sparkle. If anyone looks at you, the person will get attracted (towards you).”

The 68-year-old minister added, “Did I tell you about Aishwarya Rai? She lived near the seashore in Mangaluru. She would consume fish daily. Have you seen her eyes? You will also have eyes like her. The fish contains some oils, it makes your skin smooth.”

The BJP leader's comments, nevertheless, caused a stir online and put him in the public eye. Within three days, a women's panel demanded an explanation of his comments.

Rupali Chakankar, the head of the Maharashtra Women's Commission, directed Gavit to offer an explanation of his remarks in three days.

A letter uploaded by the chief of Maharashtra Women’s Commission Rupali Chakankar on social media read, “Videos have gone viral in which you have made insulting comments against women. There have been reactions to your comments in society. People’s representatives should be cautious of their comments as it creates a long-lasting impression on the society.”

The letter added, “You should submit your clarification in three days before the state women’s commission. A state’s progress is defined by women and their safety.”

Aishwarya Rai and her group have not yet responded to the contentious statements made by the Maharashtra minister.
