After the Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani kiss became viral, Shabana Azmi shared a rare flashback photo with Dharmendra

The romance drama Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, which debuted in theatres in July, has been a huge critical and financial success. Popular actors Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt play the key characters in the Karan Johar-directed film, which centres on the unusual relationship of a Punjabi guy and a Bengali girl. Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, however, also included the epic love tale of an old couple, performed by great actors Dharmendra and Shabana Azmi, in addition to the romance between the lead couple.

The National Award-winning actress, who has been garnering rave praises for her work in the movie, recently delighted her fans and followers with a pretty photo. To the delight of her admirers, Shabana Azmi posted a rare flashback photo on her official Instagram account featuring Dharmendra, who also appeared in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. The photo was taken on the Mardon Wali Baat set, which was released in 1988. After her kiss with the renowned actor in the Karan Johar-directed film went viral, the senior actress made the post.

"At the time Jamini from Rocky Aur Rani must have met Kanwalji! From Mardon Wali Baat #KaranJohar," Azmi captioned her post, referring to her and Dharmendra's characters from the recent blockbuster. For those who are unaware, veteran actors take on the parts of Jamini and Kanwal Lund, the former lovers who rekindle their romance as the latter approaches his death.

As previously known, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani marked Karan Johar's return to filmmaking after a lengthy absence of seven years. Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani also stars Alia Bhatt, Ranveer Singh, Dharmendra, and Shabana Azmi. The supporting cast also includes Jaya Bachchan, Tota Roy Chowdhury, Aamir Bashir, Churni Ganguly, and Kshitee Jog. Songs and an original score were written by Pritam for the movie, which was funded by Dharma Productions and Viacom18 Studios.
