Actor’s forgo fees as their movies fail to impress the audience

As per recent reports Poor reviews and subpar content have resulted in most movies not seeing any significant collections beyond the first week of the release. Mega blockbusters like Liger and Laal Singh Chaddha have been seen with below par performance.

Films of Bollywood stars have been witnessing weak first-day and weekend collections post-Covid. The jolt of the poor performance of Hindi films is clear in instances like actor Aamir Khan reportedly deciding to forgo his fees for Laal Singh Chaddha after the film bombed at the box office. 
 

According to sources if Aamir Khan decides to charge his acting fee, producer of the film Viacom18 Studios would have to suffer losses worth Rs 100 crore. It was also mentioned that However, that loss is something that Aamir Khan has decided to absorb himself and now the producer will lose nominal money with the films failure. 

And now South superstar Vijay Deverakonda’s latest offering ‘Liger’ has failed to impress the audience and critics alike. The Puri Jagannadh’s directorial that marked Vijay’s Bollywood debut earned just Rs 4.50 crore on its first day at the box office.

As per reports report the Arjun Reddy star is likely to return Rs. 6 crores to Liger producers as the film has turned out to be a disaster at the box office. The actor had reportedly charged Rs 35 crore for the film. But now in the wake of heavy losses, Vijay will be giving up a part of his remuneration to compensate. 

While Vijay’s performance was hailed, the film emerged as a big flop at the box office. The film is said to have minted Rs 66.89 crore gross worldwide and Rs 18.7 crore for the Hindi version.

If Bollywood content remains subpar, the audience's willingness to visit multiplexes might remain muted, resulting in a downward revision to the estimates.
