SC: No ban on Aravalli mining; approval required

New Delhi: Supreme Court has ruled that there will be no ban on the current legal mining process and mining auction process. However, after mining related statutory approval, the concerned state will have to take SC’s permission for mining leases.

The directions were given during the hearing in the matter of Aravalli conservation. The court said that states connected to the Aravalli mountain range will submit reports after discussion on the issue of Aravali conservation in the next two months.
