Rajasthani Academy to host folk dance contest
New Delhi: Rajasthani Academy, the premier institution of expatriate Rajasthanis in Delhi, will organize the 32nd Annual Rajasthani Folk Dance Competition (Inter-school) and 10th Subhash Lakhotia Shravan Kumar Award Ceremony on Tuesday, October 8 at Kamani Auditorium, near Mandi House, Copernicus Marg, New Delhi.
Academy President Gaurav Gupta said 200 school children from around Delhi will participate in Rajasthani folk dance competition. Under the Subhash Lakhotia Shravan Kumar Award, a prize of Rs 1 lakh will be given to the son or daughter who selflessly serves their parents, he said.
Academy Secretary Suman Maheshwari said her father, late renowned tax consultant Ram Niwas Lakhotia, conducted various activities of the Academy in Delhi for five decades and brother late Subhash Lakhotia had actively contributed to social service work of his father.
She said Subhash Lakhotia Shravan Kumar Award is dedicated to honoring those sons and daughters who demonstrate exceptional service and dedication towards their parents every year.
Maheshwari said that Subhash Lakhotia Shravan Kumar Award has been a proud tradition of Rajasthani Academy since 2015, which reflects its commitment towards filial devotion and exemplary family values.
