Delhi-Jpr Vande Bharat train by April first week: Vaishnaw

Jaipur: The wait of the people of Rajasthan for Vande Bharat train is going to end soon. The train will start from Jaipur to Delhi in the first week of April. Railway Minister Ashwani Vaishnaw said that the specially designed Vande Bharat Express for the Jaipur-Delhi route will reach Jaipur on March 24 and after its trial run, it will become operational for the general public from the last week of March or the first week of April.

The Minister was in Jaipur during a daylong visit. He took stock of preparations for the operation of Vande Bharat train at carriage and wagon maintenance depot and also inspected Khatipura railway station. The Minister expressed satisfaction over timely execution of the works assigned to the carriage and wagon maintenance depot and said that it is fully ready for operation of Vande Bharat train. Vaishnaw had a detailed discussion with Vijay Sharma, General Manager - NWR and heads of various departments and provided guidelines on all issues related to the maintenance of Vande Bharat train.

Vaishnaw discussed safety, construction projects, electrification work, station redevelopment, enhancement of passenger amenities etc. with the officers.

“Renovation of 82 railway stations of the state is being done. The stations will be developed on the lines of world class stations,” he said.

He said that the grant given to Rajasthan 10 years ago was Rs 600 crore, but this time the state has got a grant of Rs 9,532 crore. While inspecting the Khatipura station, he enquired about passenger facilities in newly constructed building & instructed to complete pending work at earliest.
