Kangana Ranaut Calls Her Portrayal of Indira Gandhi in Emergency Her Best Work Yet

In this political period drama, she takes on the role of India's former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, a leader known for her iconic yet controversial image. Kangana, who has won four National Awards for her roles in Fashion, Queen, Tanu Weds Manu Returns, and Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, recently shared in an interview that she considers Emergency her best work to date. "Indira Gandhi is my best work so far," she said, hinting at the dedication and effort she has poured into this role. Fans can look forward to her portrayal of Indira Gandhi as one of her most compelling performances yet.
Written and directed by Kangana Ranaut, Emergency also features an ensemble cast including Anupam Kher, Mahima Chaudhary, Milind Soman, Shreyas Talpade, Vishak Nair, and the late Satish Kaushik in key roles. Produced by Zee Studios and Manikarnika Films, the film's music is composed by Sanchit Balhara and G. V. Prakash Kumar, with screenplay and dialogues by Ritesh Shah. Emergency is set to be released in theaters on September 6, 2024.
